Operation Rolling Thunder from Syria to Iraq and destroy ISIS where they live and breath until no one is left with the courage to fly the black flag again. Of course that would probably require a joint cooperative effort with Putin since he is backing the powers that be in Syria.

There would be LOTS of collateral damage, including the women and children moving with ISIS and of course their captives. But unless you want the establishment of a radicalized Islamic state in the Syrian / Iranian region I don't see many alternatives. These guys are serious and us screwing around and making empty threats against the Asaad government while the radicals got organized is what got us into the current state of affairs.

On this point, Obama has proven himself a complete fool. The power of ISIS is one of his own making. The blood is partly on his hands for being such an effete wimp. I am embarrassed that he is our president.

I wonder if Mr. Foley was coerced into making his statement or if that is the way he really feels. His statement did nothing to change the barbaric nature of ISIS, but only left me scratching my head pondering why he would choose those words when his death was imminent.

He was a captive since 2012. I'm sure what he said there and what he'd have said had he been rescued wouldn't be the same. At least not after deprogramming him.

The graphic nature of the video on liveleak is not detailed, only a couple seconds, and at the very end. You can clearly understand the statement of Mr. Foley, and then that of the ISIS POS. The ISIS POS doesn't have anything new to say.

... This is also what happens when you get in a pissing contest with guys like Putin over Syria. Putin is probably the only guy on the planet who has the same problems with groups like ISIS only instead of working together on an acceptable Middle East plan that is beneficial for us and deadly for extremists we make empty threats and send John Kerry over to get laughed at again.

That is a shining example of our failed foreign policy over the last 6 years.
I tend to agree with SteyrAug on this one, I see no reason not to bomb the whole mess in to rubble and then come back six hours later and do it all over again just to kill those who crawl out of the rubble.
With the right guys working our foreign policy I'm sure the Russians would love to join right in and fly along.

James Foley was a fraternity brother of one of my lifelong friends. I feel the pain of his loss as if he was my friend.

Our president and the media gave his kidnapping zero attention over the last two years, which is why most are hearng his name for the first time today.

I believe he read a script in order to spare the life of the other hostage.

ISIS are the most evil group of people to walk the earth in our lifetime, and need to be dealt with swiftly and permanently. It is time to take the gloves off.

I don't understand why anyone would not fight to the death during an attempted capture by these animals.

If you surrender you will die a slow, gruesome death; guaranteed. If you fight, you might live or you might die quickly. I know which way I would go.
