Keep your eye on Hodge, some neat things in the works.
In the current age of "everybody's an AR maker", it's easy to miss what makes these something different.
I am, obviously, completely unconnected with Hodge Defense.
The attention to detail and quality of work on what I saw was exceptional.
As far as components, why don't you contact Hodge directly and ask?
Really, while the current stuff is nice, it's the upcoming product that I'm looking forward to
It's really not my place or in good professional conduct for me to discuss another company's product.
But, since I'm apparently the only person with google, here's what www.hodgedefense.com had to say:
    -snip-
    Here's their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HodgeDefense

I can't talk about what I discussed in confidence, if that makes me a poor steward of the internet, I apologize.

    ETA:
For complete transparency, I have not received a discount, free items, or even so much as a T-shirt or a sticker from Hodge Defense, or anyone even remotely connected to Hodge Defense.
I just happened to hear some good things about it, sat down with Jim for a discussion, and spent some time with his product.
There is absolutely no way that I could or would try to infract anyone in this thread that is criticizing the price of the product or questioning what it is that makes these stand above their contemporaries, as long as it expressed without being disruptive.
On that note: nobody is going to be able to answer these questions better than the company in question, so, instead of forcing non-involved people into positions that they do not belong, contact Hodge and give them the opportunity to explain their product. He's already stepped into the discussion, talk to him.

Our barrels are not hammer forged, but we have had nothing but positive feedback from our customers. The accuracy we have seen as well as that from our customers beats the MILSPEC by a wide margin.
So which of us are you talking about?

Not worth the ban. This thread just needs to die.

^ The "good enough" crowd thrives on mediocrity. But hey, "it functions".

Yes yes, Bravo Company, Daniel Defense, Knights, Colt, Noveske, LaRue...definitely just "it functions" products. It's about time somebody put that mediocrity in its place

Ah screw it then, if this is what M4C has to offer, perhaps a vacation from it is in order.

I eagerly await pics of the perfectly centered castle nut staking cutout, pics of the rollmark and restricted engraving colorfilled in with red lipstick to match the safety selector, side by side comparison videos of operation of this rifle's safety selector versus someone playing the washboard with spoons and this rifle with tight upper/lower fit operating versus an AR with only the front takedown pin installed and a rattlecan paint job. These are the attentions to detail that I refuse to lose sight of and am willing to spend over $2k on.

Also, please, no more pics of porn stars. My wife is seriously getting upset over how much time I spent showering last night and how snippy I've gotten with her recently.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go list my 6920 for sale as it is obviously no longer worth spit.

BTW.....Jesse Jane was a part if a photoshoot....it has nothing to do with Hodege rifle other then it was part of the prop during the shoot....
Why would you do that after the time and effort was spent to assemble the top of the line rifle?

Stupid question. It's a better trigger. ...Now go ahead and use that 6th post to attempt a comeback, Squirt.

It's just a basic rifle with off the shelf parts with great fit and finish. Tell me you don't see why everyone is acting like they are?

If this was posted by anyone who was not a mod.....or hell even a new user the thread would have been locked after a lengthy insult from a mod about how fit and finish is crap and doesn't matter. It has happened way to often here.

I did get a laugh of the pic with jessie james.......just not a fan of overly fake plastic porn stars who are well used.
I have not handled a Hodge Defense AR, but see them pop up on FB a lot with a lot of my tier 1 and tier 2 friends (referenced in a very positive way). If I may discuss my friend SMGLee for a second, sometimes his "oriental" to english translations lose their meanings. When he says "fit and finish," my guess is that he is referring to a whole bunch of other things like the receiver trueness, how the barrel interfaces with the receiver (square and true), the precision in which the upper and lowers fit (tight, but with zero binding so that all pins move in and our freely). Fitting bolts to barrels, properly tuned gas port, straightness of the barrel, proper crown, etc, etc.

I would suggest folks gather into three groups on this thread:

    1. Interested in learning more and have an open mind about what it costs for a smaller company to produce a hand fitted AR.
    2. People that believe that they can buy all the same parts and come out with the same end result.
    3. People upset that there is a porn star holding this AR.

Groups number 1, stick around and ask detailed questions.

Group number 2, keep quiet and read. You might just learn that there is a lot more to building AR's than what is in the Colt armorers manual.

Group number 3, move onto another thread. The owner did not pay to have the porn star hold their AR so get over it.

What advantage is provided by the takedown pin(s) being .030 longer?
