    But... But...

He's got a mysterious background as indicated by a "knowing smile"! Maybe Jim is a HSLD Operator, Super Black, former Army Ranger Jump Master Navy SEAL with Marine Recon Ultra Sniper tab with 6 Oak Leaf clusters and 5 V devices. You never know these days.

Gotta have some kinda advanced testicular fortitude to ask $2K+ for a forged AR in this market.

I bet the guys still waiting on their Larues are cussing finding out that they could have bought forged with ultra roll mark technology instead.

Sure and that SHOULD BE enough for you to believe that the guy is legit. You must find certain groups of people that when they say something, you instantly believe them. You might not like it, but you know it to be true. I and SMGLEE has lots of people like this in our lives.

I don't need to know whether Mr. Builder is the second coming of Larry Vickers or whether he was one of the thousands of people that have every torqued down a barrel nut on a weapon that was used by SOF. It's not my business if they don't want to talk about it. I suspect if it's a secret then it's an open secret but again, none of my business. And for the record, I don't care and I'm not asking.

I"m referring to the fact that it's very predictable that you would use that background (which we don't know, and isn't your place to announce) to try to head off any discussion about the merits or price of this weapon.

If you were really concerned about protecting what someone did, you wouldn't have made any oblique references to his background in the first place.

    That is all.
No on was heading off the argument. We were simply adding details to why the gun is $2k. As has been explained, when you have a dealer and distributor network, you have to charge more to build profit in for them. Then on top of this, small companies pay more for certain things because of the lower QTY's they order. Then time. What is someone of Jim's background/knowledge worth??? That is what we are talking about. Very seldom do I see someone of his background venture over to the commercial side to build guns. Everyone should be thrilled to have such an option in the marketplace.

No, not really. There are tons of $2k and up AR's on the market.

    Example two: http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin...n&key=HSP-JACK

I can't understand why some of you continue to post on this thread. If you aren't interested in the rifle, why do you feel the need to be condescending jerks? Please move on for the sake of people who are interested in the rifle. Everybody hates a smart a$$.

My humor is always funny in my head but I am a condescending jerk so there's that.

I'm working on it though. My dr has me on some vitamin supplements that are supposed to help and I signed up for a twelve step program but that's not going so well because they wanted me to bring cookies to the first meeting and when I showed up everyone was carrying DPMS Sporticals laden with UTG crap which overrode any benefits my vitamin supplements may have been providing causing my symptoms to come roaring back.

There just ain't no hope for some of us I guess.
Well your first 2 posts have been very informative. Read more post less.

That's some wonderful advice. Thank you for that.

    Google me.

I joined M4 a while back to answer a question a guy had but M4 has a waiting period for new members to be able to post so I lost interest and moved on. Occasionally, as happened this morning, a thread will come across my feed touting "OMG! The Best Carbine Money Can Buy!!!!" and hey, who wouldn't click on that?

Then I read the entire thread (200 something posts), google it and read more there, find that there is actually nothing new to be be excited about, make a humorous on topic remark and move on but there's always some HSLD keyboard guy out there who cannot accept that there are other people out there who may not be as HSLD as they are who have to reply to my post with good solid advice such as "Read more post less" which causes me to have to make a response such as this one.

Thank you for your kind welcome btw. I look forward to learning from your vast stores of knowledge and experience.

As you can see I don't post that much. Because I still have a lot to learn about ARs. So I tend to read a lot. And I wasn't going to post but since I am actually interested in this thread I was getting tired of the useless posts hence the advice.

Contrarians still posting in the thread have to justify why THEY paid over 2k for their rifles. Build quality be damned. The other day I read a post in which someone was talking about an issue with their DD upper. Another person chimed in "make sure its not a friday or monday build". KAC, Colt or Noveske couldn't possibly have "friday" or "monday" builds can they? Unfathomable*, right? Or is it? Nobody knows. I'd also argue if any of these die-hards did receive a so-so build from either of these companies they would never admit it. It's "good enough" to them because it has the rollmark they prefer and hey, "it's functional".

I'm sure anyone who's ever HAD to send any parts/components back to any manufacturer would appreciate a Hodge rifle.

This is the bleeding from the anus I was talking about...

I think it is more comical that some knuckleheads even got on that preposterous Larue waiting list to begin with, even more stayed on it. The second hand market for larue rifles is in full swing and the listening are showing very activity at just below MSRP.

You are new to the forum and its culture so we will give a friendly warning. All the forums on M4C are technical (less the GD). That means that posters need to provide technical and or useful data to the subject at hand. If you cannot, it is better to not post.

    No reply is needed.
