A better rifle can be built for less, and a much better rifle can be had for the same. What kind of prices should we expect out of their magically delicious unobtanium rifle that's in the works?

Are the enhanced pins the BAD-EPS? What kind of gas port sizes are these rifles shipping with?

I may be the only one here who thinks this, but using a "porn" whore to advertise this product is a huge "no thanks I'll never buy your rifle".

I too think they could have done without it. They gotta figure out a way to reach an audience and it seems they went the general "guys like guns and chicks" route. Drop the rifle from a helicopter then let us talk. Or better yet, one up that drop someway. I'm all for a new manufacturer joining the AR market but, I need something to pull me in.

Granted 95% of the people here can build a same spec'd rifle for cheaper. But most here aren't trying to make a living at it. One thing everybody in this thread needs to realize is that the Hodge may cost a few bucks more due to being a new ,small (I don't know as fact) company. It seems to me they are trying to offset the cost by offering a 'hand fit' lug job. This will appeal to some may not others.

I wish Hodge and his folks good luck and hope they bring us many fine rifles in the future.

Just out of curiosity, does Hodge Defense hold ISO certification? Because one thing I look out for is companies that go the step to get the those certifications. Vltor proudly declares that AAMI/Vltor are ISO certified and there is no doubt that their products reflect quality. It doesn't mean I'll discount the product, I have more than enough items that I have no idea what standards certifications they hold but I still purchased them based on multiple forum members of high regard viewing them very favorably.

Not convinced the product being touted as the "best carbine money can buy" is really any better than BCM CHF middy that costs half the price.

The signal to noise ratio of this thread is quite low by M4C standards.

BTW, were the pics in the OP taken before or after T&E? The hammer and lower look remarkably new and un-worn for a weapon that supposedly has had 3k rounds put through it...

Very good detective work on that virgin hammer, doesn't even look dry fired.

You guys are a tough bunch. I would hate to try to sell a darn thing to some of you. I don't know Hodge from Adam but I've heard his name quite a few times over the years by some folks I respect in the industry. That doesn't mean I'm going to run out and buy one of his rifle right now. If you don't like his product, don't buy it. It's as simple as that. There's no no need to bash the rifle, the website or anything else. A simple "good luck with your endeavor" would have sufficed. What I see is a one man show trying to deliver a quality product and make a living at it. No more, no less. I wish Mr. Hodge the best and appreciate him taking the time to chime in on his rifle bashing thread.

Nobody is bashing his rifle, just the price.

You have to pay to play.

He has to make a living and pay the bills too.
