The uppers I have built from scratch all get MUR's. If I bought a complete rifle or upper (BCM or Noveske) I leave it. I would go with the MUR as #1 and flip a coin for the other two.

EDIT: If you really want to get fancy.. find a VLTOR MUR thats Noveske marked..

Just note that the two are not the same. The Noveske marked MUR has the alignment pin hole drilled for use with the NSR handguards and they are also wider than the VLTOR MUR underneath by the barrel nut. This may cause issues with handguards that utilize anti-rotation tabs.

Has Noveske taken a back seat in the quality department since his passing or something?

I would suggest to those people who are posting without any real knowledge base, that they not post like they know what they are talking about. For clarity, I certainly don't mean Doc or IG.

Noveske stainless barrels have the matchmod0 chamber, similar in dimensions the the .223 wylde chamber, designed to "shoot Mk262m1 in auto in hot environments". BCM's are 556 NATO if I am not mistaken.

I'm very happy with the two MUR uppers I built about 4-5 months ago. I used the MUR with the forward assist and they have the new logo. I decided to use Noveske steel barrels. I like the Noveske barrels for a couple reasons. First, I like the profiles of the barrels in medium contour, second I like the thicker chrome, and third they come with pinned gas blocks instead of set screw gas blocks. I'm sure a properly set screw gas block is fine, but I prefer pinned.

I used BCM BCGs, and KMR rails. The package is pleasing for me, I run Noveske Gen 2 lowers, one of them is Chainsaw.

I appreciate the Vltor MUR, it gives the impression of being a stronger upper than a standard upper.

BTW - I have a couple complete BCM uppers as well and they are also excellent. I also have a BCM M4 upper (bought as a stripped upper) in another build. It was perfect and had a tight fit with the barrel.

You cannot go wrong either way, but if you want a beefier upper go MUR.

I have a rifle with a 16" BCM stainless barrel. If I were to do it over again I would go Noveske for the stainless barrel. JMHO.

Can you post pictures of those 2, they sound very similar to what I am envisioning.

They're all quality uppers, to the average shooter they will work the same
