I wonder where the weapons we're giving the Kurds are going if the peshmerga have to provide their own. Are the vendors taking them for nearly nothing and reselling them at what seems an enormous profit?

During the recent unpleasantness, I sold a Colt's 6940 LE carbine kitted up with an EOTech 510 on Gunbroker for $4750.00 USD! I originally purchased the Colt's for $1200.00.....It's called "supply v demand," and it applies to every marketplace on earth, I might add, that an M16 for $3000.00 would be a killer bargain here in the states....

I read that until recently we were giving the weapons to them "through" the Iraqi central government. If true I can only imagine that the majority never made it to them.

I think it is just typically "sloppy journalism" and they are comparing genuine select fire AK-47s with semi auto WASR-10s and actual Colt M-16s with Bushmaster AR rifles.

Of course if there was ever an article written about guns that was factually accurate and correctly researched the entire internet might explode. Thankfully the risk of that happening is extremely low, we can't even get most gun magazines to get it right.
