    UK/US SOF to target ISIS

    Accuracy unknown, but FYI:

SAS and US special forces forming hunter killer unit to 'smash Islamic State'

Elite British and US special forces troops are forming a hunter killer unit called Task Force Black – its orders: “Smash the Islamic State.”

The undercover warriors will aim to “cut the head off the snake” by hitting the command structure of the Islamist terror group responsible for a trail of atrocities across Iraq and Syria, reports the Sunday People.

PM David Cameron has told the SAS and UK spy agencies to direct all their *resources at defeating IS after a video of US journalist James Foley being beheaded shocked the world.

British special forces will work with America’s Delta Force and Seal Team 6. The move sees a rebirth of top secret Task Force Black, which helped defeat al-Qaeda terrorists in Iraq .

This time the counter-terrorist *experts will be targeting Abu Bakr *al-Baghdadi, leader of IS and now the world’s most wanted terrorist.

A source said: “We need to go into Syria and Iraq and kill as many IS members as we can. You can’t *negotiate with these people.

“This is not a war of choice. They are cash rich and have a plentiful *supply of arms. If we don’t go after them, they will soon come after us.

Yes, the amount of detail, if correct/true, seems like intentionally leaked to rattle some cages. If true, and not intentional, than someone really fu^#ed with with OPSEC. Honestly, I assumed such units, by what ever named and tasked to who ever, were/are already out there doing that. Maybe a false flag use of the media to create an intended reaction.

Mark Urban wrote a book 'Task Force Black,' published in 2010. Absolutely fascinating read ad well worth picking up.

By all accounts they smashed AQ in 2007-2008 in Iraq. I am very excited to hear they will be getting it on again over there.

Task Force Black seems to have been around for a while I would say 'redeployed' is probably a better term than 'being formed' at this point.

Fighting the last war, again? Can't even come up with a new name?

ISIS seems like a different animal. Not AQ, moving in the shadows, but like the Taliban, trying to go 'legit', or maybe more like the Palestinian groups that are part terrorist/part semi-state.

As if ISIS ever thought they weren't already on the radar with the people that can make a difference.

I have 100% confidence some not very nice people are already targeting and interdicting ISIS leadership. It comes with the territory with being leaders in a terrorist network.

Here's a better idea: quit funding them. These peabrains couldn't do what they do without money from bigger countries.

We'd do a lot more damage to these pricks if we started whacking some bankers in Qatar and Zurich.

A little late for that, since they have overran the Iraqi Army bases and banks. They've become the best armed and funded terrorists in history at this point.

Yeah, doubt that will ever happen.

IMO, better to burn the source and use the banks for intelligence vs. pissing off Europe with extrajudicial action against Switzerland.

Biggest problem I see is that we are going about it the way you go about taking down an established state. Take the head (civilian/military leaders) so the body can't figure out what to do. It works where there is a highly established chain of command.

With terrorists, which is precisely what ISIS/ISIL still is, once you take the head the body moves on to other tactics to try to achieve their original objective. Each cell has a certain amount of autonomy, and while they may be moving toward the same goal each part is going about it in a way that it sees fit. If they were more united in the singular goal of raising their own Caliphate fighting them would actually be easier. As they currently stand though they are shitting everywhere and not making many friends, or at least truces. This is where we have to increase our effectiveness in taking out the ones that have really PO'ed the populace. Once you get those taken care of you make friends with the indigenous tribes to root out the less controversial ISIS/ISIL interlopers.
