I have a BCM 11.5" w/ RIS II, and if I could swap rails out without having to take off the brake/gas block, that would be awesome.
Barrel nut is the same. As long as you as the RIS II can be removed over your brake, there is no need to pull the gas block or brake. Just remove the rail system, loosen the barrel nut from the upper and then remove your barrel from your upper. Install the new bolt up plate, reinstall your barrel assembly, torque your barrel nut and then install the SLiM. the Wrench that will be provided with the SLiM will work on the RIS II Barrel Nut.

I'm going to send you an email with a picture because I'm still not sure this will work for me. Thanks

Got it and I've replied. I'll post my reply here as well for anyone else interested.

Your DDM4v1 is one of our older models with the Omega X Rail 12.0 FSP. You'd definitely have to pull the barrel so that you can install the barrel nut and bolt up plate for the SLiM rail. And of course, you'd have to replace the FSB with an LPG as we don't have any plans for an FSP Model SLiM.

The only current production rifles that will accept the SLiM w/out changing the mounting hardware are the v4, v5, and v9 equipped with DDM4 Rails. All of these models have LPGs. Removing the rail system is as easy as removing the 4 bolts and sliding the rail system off. Some aftermarket muzzle devices might be too large to allow this. If this is the case, the muzzle device would have to be removed as well.

Thanks I was hopeful. I guess I will go with my original plan then since this one won't save me any time or money.

Oh huh, interesting. My brake is the Surefire SOCOM one, so the RIS II will come off over it no problem.

Is a 10" or 10.5" Keymod rail in the works? I have a suppressor as well, so I can't have too long of rails on my 11.5" barrel.

Shorter lengths will be available but at this time, we don't have plans for a 10" version. This is a brand new product line so anything is possible in the future.

They came out pretty awesome (Mk12 and V11), can't wait to see the control accessories when they're ready for showtime.

The other question I had was about possibilities of an LR308/SR25 height rail system option for the SLiM KeyMod handguard - I realize it would be a ways back in the pipeline, and sorting out lengths may take some time, but that would be the no-brainer answer for me in that market space [unless you guys roll out precision S2W type LR308 uppers].

Same here...my DD is going on a diet and I'm trying to hold out for this rail. I might not be able to wait too long and I'll go with a KMR. Any rough estimates of time?

What is the ID of this rail? I've got an 11.5" barrel and run it suppressed. Wondering if the 12" would work.
