Yeah, I don't like the B5 Keymod handguard at all, but that's me.
I'm just guessing but I think I would still need to change my barrel nut on my v1 correct? I have been looking to swap my rail out for a keymod system but haven't felt like pulling my barrel nut off, but if this one uses the same nut I will jump on it. If not I will just go kmr and save weight with more mounting options.
I'd be all for a DDM4 V12 (Mk12 Barrel, this handguard) setup, but only after some of the other stuff clears out and they have enough stock from those barrels to make more stuff. So far DD has been fabulous about releasing combinations of rails and other stuff, the only exception in mind being the GL/SSC (that I keep trying to talk Stickman and others out of their odd leftover ones).

I would also like a link if you have one. Also, how much did the guy doing pull ups weigh? A 120 lb. dude would still be impressive, but if it were anyone nearing or exceeding 200 lbs, I would definitely have to check one out. I do pull ups on my C4 rail every day and it's held up fine for over a year. Really. No.. not really...
I'm probably going to end up buying one of these. Not sure if I trust mag alloys yet. I'm also a huge fan of DD's mounting system - the only reason I'm still running quads on two of my guns.

Is this the same barrel nut as the RIS II?
I have a BCM 11.5" w/ RIS II, and if I could swap rails out without having to take off the brake/gas block, that would be awesome.
The issue here isn't the barrel nut... the RIS II uses a different kind of bolt-up plate (six screws vs four screws), so I seriously doubt it would work.
EDIT: I was wrong. Please see the post below by Joe Marler from Daniel Defense. You can remove the plate even with a pinned muzzle device, you just have to remove the barrel from the upper receiver in order to do so.

Drat, so much for that idea.
There is no link. I saw it on this forum. It actually might be in the beginning pages of the KMR thread. The post was made by someone who was actually involved in the testing. They were describing why the formula included 12‰ of aluminum rather than just being 100% Magnesium. They said after many prototypes they found that 12% was the least amount of aluminum they could use without weakening the structural integrity.
I believe the number is 12% but it could be off by a little. I know the aluminum content is something around there.
