Sorry, but I experienced an operator induced malfunction on one camera and missed the side shot of the gelatin.
Okay, in all seriousness, that really isn't a fair comparison. Sure it's the same bullet weight and sure it's almost the same barrel length but we don't measure revolvers the way we do autos. It's also a VERY heavy weight for .357, while it's middle of the road for 10mm. The .357 load was probably intended for use in a much longer barrel. I intended to test it in my wife's .357 Rossi M92 but I only had two rounds and the first exited the side of the block.

Bonus happy fun time with Desert Eagle, levers, and a 37mm:
If you want to try some hot .357 magnum ammunition in gel, check out Double Tap Ammo. I chronographed their .357 magnum 125 gr Gold Dot HP load over my Oehler 35 with these results,
Smith & Wesson 686 4" - 1,611 fps
Ruger Security-Six 6" - 1,733 fps
Well it's good to hear that they're not lying about something. They're absolutely full of it about their 10mm ammo, which is why they'll never get a dime from me. I take integrity very seriously.
Sorry about that. In the hopes that no one ever buys crap that doesn't do what they think it does, at least in 10mm, a member on another forum put together this spreadsheet. It includes data collected by him, another member, and myself. It shows advertised velocity, actual, powder type and weight, and a link to my gelatin tests where available.

Thanks for posting that Andrew. I've actually been turned on to Underwood Ammo for my 10mm, in addition to my own reloads. I seriously felt duped by DT after chrono'ing their stuff. After a little research on the internet, I found out that I wasn't alone. It's been years now since Mike was given any of my money.

You're welcome. No one should use those loads as a starting point, for obvious reasons, but hopefully the chart can give you a good idea of how to get your hand loads where you want them, too.
I got into 10mm after all the dust settled but it sounds as though DT used to make ammo that lived up to the claims. A few years back they reduced powder charges but never changed the advertised velocity to reflect the change. If it was a simple (though large) oversight, they might be forgiven if they had simply updated the packaging and website. Instead, they continue to boast velocities that are 100-200 fps greater than what they deliver. When McNett was questioned about it on Glocktalk, he simply stopped responding.
I had noticed that. I'm a member there also although not actively. By not addressing the issue, he only made it worse for himself & his business.
I think I still have some older stuff that comes close to his claims & IIRC his .40 ammo that I have makes claimed vel. I haven't followed him lately since I wrote him a few years back. Not sure what he claims anymore.
I haven't shown my G20 much lovin' lately. This 10mm talk makes me want to go divot some steel.
