    California waiting period ruled unconstitutional.

I looked for an existing thread on this and didn't see one.

Judge rules waiting period unconstitutional for existing gun owners and people in possession of a ccw permit or ownership certificate.

Hot damn. Color me surprised. Though I still see a waiting period as the right being "infringed", certainly a step in the right direction for CA.

This is a big win in CA. The only drawback will be for the first time gun buyer. My guess is DOJ will make some permit process for first time buyers that takes longer than 10 days.

With wins on both sides of the gun debate it seems in the coming years we will at least hammer out what exactly is considered constitutional and whats not. Whcih could be good and could be bas, but so far it seems to mostly be going our way.

I think the toughest one and the most important will be the conclusion of the debate of 'in common use', which I hope will basically be considered anything the police use. The idea a semi auto AR15 is not in common use is totally inconceivable to me, but apparently not that tranny in MD.

This needs to hit the 9th Circuit to matter, and also to apply to Hawaii.

Hawaii has retarded pistol registration laws, worse than California. But it has better rifle laws.

    Thanks for the good news.

Anyone want to bet whether or not it will actually ever take effect?

Excellent news. I wonder if this will somehow affect NJ's waiting 30 days between handgun purchases.
