    After a year of record sales, the gun market is cooling off. Smith & Wesson blamed high inventory, while Sturm Ruger blamed itself for not making enough cool new guns.

    Market saturation is the cause. Some manufacturers are reacting to keep sales up by slashing prices. It's working from what I see. I bought very few firearms during the frenzy. I've bought three in the last three months!

    Maybe if prices hadn't soared people would still have enough money to buy additional weapons.
