It is a 700 ML. I have glassed and floated it, and an adjustable trigger set at about 3.5 lb. I am trying to see how accurate I can get it . Sucks that I haven't tried it out yet. Just something different.....

man that is beautiful
My son talked me into rebuilding / reconfiguring what has been my 18" match barreled AR15 precision rifle into a 16" lightweight carbine that best fits his ergonomic preferences. This left me with no precision rifle and with a scope & bipod without a home. So I purchased a Remington 700 SPS Tactical chambered in Remington .223 to fill this role (pic):
We cleaned up the factory grease, lubed the rifle, mounted the scope base, rings, scope, & bipod, and headed to the range to get it zero'e at 100 yards. Five rounds in and the rifle was sighted in at 100 yards. From there we were averaging 1.25" groups at 100 yards with bulk Federal 55gr FMJ ammo.
Until recently I'd been away from away from any sort of precision shooting for decades. My skills are improving and results becoming more consistent as I practice. While I do intend to replace the stock, the trigger, and bottom metal (to accept box magazines) I'll wait until I'm shooting more consistently before I start changing variables.
I'm enjoying this rifle and my son is as well. I'm glad he talked me into this.
