    "Moved" thread

Did it get "moved" to the trash? I explicitly stated "If this isn't kosher, let me know." But I haven't heard from any Moderators... not trying to break any rules by "advertising" if I'm not a sponsor, just am trying to spread the word about a project of mine as far and wide as possible. So if any mod would like to contact me about my "moved" thread that would be appreciated, a simple "Sorry, you can't do that." would suffice...

They do what they do without explanation, just suck it up and move on.

I have also found that if you want to "find out why" a PM to a member of staff or any moderator is usually the best way to go. I probably got sideways with a few moderators over at TOS because I used to post "WTF?!?" topics in the open.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

Be selective. Not all of them here take kindly to PM's....

I moved your thread to an area where it was not visible, not to the trash. We wanted clarification on if it was considered a group buy or not, and if anybody had given you permission for it. You were seeking funding for a project. You did not ask permission first before doing so. I wanted to check and see if anyone had given you a thumbs up.

It's a splendid idea to ask permission from a staff member before using M4C bandwidth to help fund your invention. This was going to be a PM to you, until I saw your post here.

And to quote SteyrAUG, it would have been a good idea to contact a mod or staff member first. We all do have day jobs, and don't live on the forum 24/7. So some of us don't post or respond here while we are at work. Therefore you may not get an immediate note about something. It might take a while. In your case, it took about 24 hours. As others have mentioned, this mod/staff thing is an unpaid position and we all have day gigs to pay for that expensive ammo & stuff.

This is not a beatdown, this is an explanation. In the future, it would be a very good idea to check first before creating that kind of post.

So the main question is - can you tell me who you contacted before posting the thread, so I can go verify with them? If you did not, please let me know that as well.

    Thanks.

The OP and I had a good and pleasant discussion via PM, and in the words of my hero Jules from Pulp Fiction: "We cool."

I hope his project works out, I like innovation.

I'm also moving this thread to the Site Questions subforum, since it's not really a GD topic.
