I've had mine for over a month and I'm still using the same battery. I'm really liking mine so far and I prefer the APL switch to the one on my X300U. Easier to use and more intuitive, in my opinion. The slim profile and shorter length makes it a great fit for a concealed carry weapon, which is what I'm using it on. I personally feel that the X300U is too long for anything smaller than a full size pistol.
As for the negatives, that slim profile means my RCS holster doesn't have the same amount of retention that I'm used to. Most light compatible kydex holsters retain the light as opposed to the trigger guard. The APL doesn't really provide any surfaces for the holster to grab on to. I use my VP9 for both concealed carry and IDPA so I do wish they could've figured out a way to keep a QD mount. I have to keep a screwdriver handy so I can remove the light for my IDPA matches. I've also noticed that when tightened, the APL doesn't sit centered on my VP9. It's very slightly to the right. Perhaps that's the nature of a screw clamp type of mount where one side is fixed. It's not really an issue and doesn't affect function but the Surefire mount is still superior. I tried to take a picture of it but it's barely noticeable.
I haven't taken it to any pistol classes, dropped it, or beat up on it so I can't speak to it's durability yet. Overall, I'm very satisfied with it.

I checked my light after reading the above post and I didn't notice the hotspot being off center at least on my G21. Then again I tightened the screw just tight enough. It's wayyy more solid than before so it should be fine. I never had a flying APL.
Hows the new version holding up for everyone? Does anyone know if the reported battery drain issues were fixed?
I just got my Gen 2 APL. Mounted on a Glock it has some wobble to it. Is that normal? The screw is as tight as it can be.
