    .308 AR10 - Top Barrel MFG's?

    Hello,

Thinking about a .308 AR10 build. I am familiar with the other parts I need, but am somewhat lost with what barrel to use. I am thinking about a 16" or 18". Any suggestions? I have no budget really. Thank you

Krieger will finish one for you, if not instock the it could be a significant wait.

What will it be used for? Precision shooting or more of a run and gun battle rifle? I've learned from experience that piecing together a 308 AR is a much different ball game than putting an AR-15 together. You are better off buying the bolt and barrel at the same time so they can be properly head spaced.

My top picks for 308 barrels: Mega (Bergara barrels, I believe), Rainier Arms (Shilen/White Oak on the ultramatch, Black Hole on the select, and I don't know who does the match line) , and Fulton Armory (Criterion) all seem to be good starts at regular price ranges. If you want to go more, then Krieger is obviously a good answer for a precision rifle.

I went Krieger on mine and have never regretted it. It's an 18" tack driver, I've had it out to 650yds and first round hits no problem. To get most of the Krieger bang, the krieger criterion barrels are also good.

Good luck and have fun, gas .308's are a joy to shoot

Thank you for the replies. I will look into Krieger a bit. Anyone else? Seems like there are fewer choices than on the AR15 platform....
