As of right now, I'm leaning strongly toward the Mossberg MVP Patrol in 7.62 w/scope. I've read a lot of reviews and watched quite a few YouTube videos and it seems like a very cost effective way to satisfy my needs. It really fits the description of a utility rifle which is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll also consider the Remington 700 Tactical, but I haven't studied it that closely yet.
