Man I guess my SHTF stash pales compared to everyone else's. Aside from the 30rnd P-mag full of TAP-FPD I keep with the weapon I have 7 USGI mags with yellow Magpul followers in a SAW pouch with 28 rounds of M193 in each. I figure a basic combat load ALWAYS on hand should get me through most anything.

yes I do picture out scenarios in my mind... even the raging horde scenario lol...

no way is it going to be 20-30 thugs barricaded outside. by that time... there's probably a news flash about riots and stuff. by that time... I'll probably have a minimi with box ammo or an m60 mounted in the rooftop.

This brings up an interesting point about thinking beyond just your normal 1-3 bad guy scenarios. Listening to my Sirius radio isn't going to alert me to riots on my way to work in the ghetto. Being prepared for larger situations is a matter of a few pounds I suppose.

I guess it'll depend on where you live. from where I live a raging horde is unlikely. and if I have to empty 2 pmags.... and they don't disperse... it's probalby because im really outnumbered and outgunned.

I just don't expect to run into trouble wherein you're being attacked by more than 5 people. QUOTE]

Exactly. I don't expect trouble either. The issues occur when we least EXPECT them, hence the mindset of being prepared. If we expected trouble off duty, most likely we wouldn't go there!

Criminals gang up for stregnth in numbers as well. It doens't have to be five. 2-3 could give you a run for your money.

Are the chances likely these can happen? No. But people win the Lottery and get struck by lightning too....

Mindset and preparing just takes a little extra effort.

One more I saw here. Does the fact you could be outnumbered and outgunned mean you're going to quit and give up? Or are you going to keep fighting!

Is your family depending on you? If its just you and you want to succumb, more oxygen for the rest of us. But if you have family like we all do, they depend on me to be the Sheepdog.

There is an excellent article from Dave Grossman on Wolves, Sheep and Sheepdogs. I highly recommend you do a quick google search and read it.

When do you anticipate stocking up this equipment? Ahead of time, or are you going to start looking for it when the riots start?
