It uses a rifle length spring, but the buffer and receiver extension length are proprietary. Just drop the JP and go with the A5, its is the superior system.

    I paint spaceship parts.

Looks like JP needs to make a silent capture spring spacer for the A5 then, I feel like that would be perfect for some reason. I've never used the A5 but I love the silent capture, I run it in two (and soon to be three) rifles.

Try an A5, you'll never go back.

I've already invested a bit into the JP's, but I'd planned on doing a SPR build with an A5. Does it really feel better??
I like that I can buy different weight springs for the JP, especially helpful in my current ultra compact/quite .300 blk build I'm working on.

My A5's are damn near silent. Try an A5, you will never go back.

I would do the A5 also. I transitioned all my rifles over to it. It is a sweet set up. No experience with the silent capture however.

I'll throw in another reccomendation for an A5.

I'm running them in both my 16" gun and my 10.3" SBR. They run great and are 'quiet.' I'm using the A5H2 buffer paired with a 'green' sprico spring in both. My 18" SPR'ish upper runs great on the A5 equipped lowers as well.

    Yes it does.

Beauty of the A5 is you won't need different weight anything. 6" 9mm, 9.5" 300BLK, 10.5", 11.5", 12", 14.5", 16", 18" MK12 uppers have all worked for me (no issues) on a standard A5, suppressed and unsuppressed. I shot a couple of those uppers suppressed a lot, so I got a heavier buffer to keep it a little softer, but that was a want. Not a need, as it was running fine with the standard A5 buffer.
