I'm not sure why anyone would buy an A5 tube and not run the VLTOR buffer and spring with it. What would be the point? Also, don't presume you need the SAPR until you mount the scope. My Leupold MK 6 is perfect in an ADM Recon with a Magpul CTR. The Geissele DMR I run in mine is awesome, and if you don't want an adjustable trigger, I would go with the SSA.

If you want to go Seekins, cool (it's neat looking stuff); For a savings equivalent to a new GSSA-E you can go with a forged setup (or run at least the MUR upper and a cheaper lower). I'm not in love with the design/durability of the Fortis rails, but the Rev 14 is among the better ones if you like the I-beam type feel (ala OmegaX rail), which I happen to like.
As much as the EMOD gets little love, if you're already getting an A5 kit it becomes a hilariously cheap stock (same cheekweld angle, the beard-destroyer feature is easily mitigated with a BCM Gunfighter or other sticker, and it fits properly over the RE), I'd look into it at least.

Absolutely spend more for the solid LPK, everything else on there (Geissle, Atlas, Vortex)are spot-on choices.

I recently finished, well now I am in the fine tuning stage and should update but if I may add. Here is a link to my build
    https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread...6464-New-Build

I switched out the Lantac Dragon because it was spitting a gale force wind at my face after every shot from a rest I added a PWSFSC556 that I really like ( not so much those around me). So you may want to rethink that choice, I think it is great for a battle rifle but not for a SPR. Also i would def recommend the A5 as many others have said, with the A5 its like fine tuning your moms pasta gravy. What is so nice about that is the amount of modification you can do based on the ammo your using, changing out buffer weights, extractor springs, buffer springs etc. I know you can do this with a standard buffer but the A5 adds to the flavor. I would add the A5 kit and talk to the nice people at Sprinco to get set up with a green spring and maybe a upgraded extractor spring. They are very informative and will answer all questions. For rails, make sure your thinking about the added weight of the bipod and taking into account rail flex. With that I would also make sure you have a good amount of clearance from the GB to the rail. I am changing out my rail on my build because of this and putting the KMR on a rifle more set for movement, and adding a Geissele to my build. Which fortis rail model are you looking to get? I would recommend the BCM BCG and if you do not go with sprinco to upgrade your extractor kit for a few dollars BCm has a nice kit. I also put a SOPMOD on my build and am starting to prefer that cheek weld for distance shooting. LPK wise Grant at GnRtactical.com has great customizable LPKs ( like a colt LPK with out FCG for 60) and he is a stand up Gent.

Also I have done the whole JP captured buffer in a A5 with spacer. I did not like it one bit, I had trouble with my bolt locking back, it did not do anything for me in terms of recoil and the reduction in sound was noting to write home about, I did not notice much of a difference. I offloaded that JP thing almost immediately. Just do the A5H2 or A5H3 buffer depending on ammo, I also always have the A5H1 on me just in case. But the JP next to the A5 with A5 buffers is no contest Vltor wins this all day

I currently use the VLTOR A5 with JPSCS and like it. I'll take my other lower with the A5 and standard buffer to compare how they shoot next week.

The spacer that JP provides needs to be cut down to fit the A5 extension.

I don't get it why? It seems asinine to use an A5 extension when a standard carbine one works with the JP set up with out modification. The whole point of the a5 tube is to be able to use a rifle spring and a5 buffer.

You guys hit the nail on the head. When I tried this I was still amazed by glossy magazine pages and KOOL-aid. Others tried to warn me that it adds nothing, maybe a tiny bit of extra smoothness but we are not talking about which hand cream works better, the A5 runs great on its own with A5 buffers. I was able to sell the until for basically the price I paid for it luckily.

I am not saying it does not work, I am just saying the return reward is not worth the upgrade. I am interested in Johnson's thoughts when running both side by side as I did.

Because your average AR owner is ignorant and easily fooled by buzzwords like "perfect centerless-ground and precision-polished, quietest, smoothest on the market" rather than taking the time to understand how the AR buffer system works and why the A5 improves functionality. Apparently people are allergic to terms like spring rate and reciprocal mass.
