Exceeding the mil spec is a good trait, but it doesn't mean that other stocks don't also do the same. Comparable data is necessary before saying it is "one of the strongest" stocks. A better description, at this point, is that it "exceeds mil spec drop test requirements."
I have seen a lot of stocks over the years go through drop tests (some official US Govt and some not). Very few will make it over and over and over again like the BCM one does. Most crack on the FIRST drop.

If a guy mortars on the toe of the stock, he's retarded and can't be helped no matter what. I'm sure the gunfighter stock is very stout, but that's a lower priority characteristic to me.
The beauty of the AR is that the center of gravity makes it land right on the optic when dropped from a significant height.

My optics all have at least 1 or 2 dings on them. I built a mobile rifle rack to hold 5 rifles because of that very problem.

    Haha. I'm with you there.

So, what's the big surprise everyone was alluding to with this stock? Is it that it's modular and parts can be changed out?

Ultra lightweight, rigid with tightest lockup.

It is not my place to discuss specifics, but I am aware of a number of popular stocks that take beating after beating over the mil spec test without problems.

My point is not that the BCM stock isn't rugged, I just think without sufficient supporting data it's a weak marketing point to call it "one of the strongest."

It's also hideous, but that's another discussion entirely.

Yep, but none this light and this inexpensive (to my knowledge) will last as long as the BCM.

I have one and think it is very modern and sleek looking. It also feels good shouldered (cheek weld).
