I bought two pairs of heavy cotton cargo pocket shorts from Academy about five years ago they were marked made in Russia.

They are tough and quality made I have worn and washed& power dried them hundredes of times and they show no signs of wearing out.
I think theywill last for many many more years.

    VTAC Sling

I was disappointed in the quality of the VTAC sling I got. So, ordering directly from VTAC would ensure better quality?

I guess what I am asking are there different manufacturers, that make the slings to different standards. I definitely want it Made in the U.S.A. if I can get it.

    Thanks,

There are several diff. versions of this sling. The majority of them are made overseas (like Vietnam or somehwere). They do make some that are berry amend. complient, but have yet to see any of those at dealers.

I would suggest that you also look at the BFG Vickers slings. 100% made in the US and they use far better materials than VTAC does.

I've heard they're pretty decent, but have yet to see a good write-up.

I run a GS-2P as my duty sling. For a couple reviews, you can take a look at the below link. The Vickers/ BFG sling would be my next choice without any hurt feelings.

Like LAV written in his tactical tips, use a modern 2 point sling, if not one of his use somebody else's. Stay away from the outdated 3 points. I've used a VCAS sling, currently using the economy version, the Victory sling. It's a well made sling with the adjustable feature and a price that doesn't break the wallet. You can get it from Brownells or directly from Blue Force.
I have the newer generation 2 point tactical sling from Redi Mag/Boonie Packer, it is very similar to many of the more famous brands. It's installed on my backup carbine and seems to be working well for less than $20.
Many like the VTAC slings, I'm not too familiar with it, as I've seen only a couple first hand.

That Gear Sector sling look mighty similar to the Redimag/Boonie Packer sling here, right down to the pull tab:
