I have the NEA version, which looks nearly identical.

It's too short when fully extended. I suppose if I had on some serious armor, it would be about right... but usually, I don't. All of the notches in the stock except the 'fully open' notch are pointless, and make the stock difficult to use. As mentioned above, it's a two-handed op to extend the stock, which is a major fail, in my opinion. If I can find some material to fab some new rods (NEA, or anyone else that I can find won't sell them separate; the new NEA rods only have the 'max open' notches), I can make the stock useful (and I think I can get another half inch or more length out of it too... but it's a bummer you spend that much money, and it becomes a project).

I say not ready for prime time.

What of reliability? How many rnds did you put through the set up? That would be issue/priority number one for me before I'd consider such a thing. Otherwise it would be under fun plinker similar to how I'd view AR "pistols"

I think this kit has promise but I really like how easy it is to clean my ARs now with a chrome or nickel boron BCG. Any plans by troy to make this upgrade to their BCG?

My apologies for the thread necromancy, but are these still a no-go with Piston AR's?
