So I have to ask, What are you doing with this rifle? Are you a sniper? Precision competition shooter? What exactly are you doing that you think requires 1MOA or better accuracy?

Just curious because I just finished a Precision Rifle class in Illinois and I was able to consistently hit a 12" steel plate at 600 yards with Carl Gustav SS109 clone from one of our SIONICS 16" LW Melonite 1/8 twist barrels. If that was a live target down range, he isn't going to care what MOA the rounds were that dropped him/her.

I went with the BCM SS410 16" middy with kmr15 just recently and am getting under 1" at 100 yards with CBC Magtech 77 grain ammo.

I've had 2 of the Colt CR 6724 Hbar Elites, and logged close to 11,000 rounds in them. I like the rifle but my 11.5" BCM lightweight shoots as well with tuned handloads. A good barrel properly assembled into a free floated upper, excellent trigger and sights. Without good ammunitions are wasted!

My father bought the Colt accurized rifle about 10-12 years ago. We have put thousands of rounds down that barrel. It takes bowling pins at 415 yards using m193 rather reliably. It shoots around moa still with tap t2. It's a boring rifle. You pull the trigger and you already know the results. It just gets the job done. No super nice trigger. No amazing rail system. Just boring reliability and consistent accuracy.

I feel reluctant to jump in here, because I have the BCM SPR. What they are calling a MK12. It shoots .75moa with boring regularity. My best at 100 is .61. These are 5 shot groups, and I'm talking many, many groups at .75moa, not just a group.

That said, I really have to agree with Iraqgunz, mission dictates equipment. You need to define your mission then go from there. I say that because the average AR should hold about 1.5-2moa. I'm talking a nice gun, decent glass etc. Now at 2moa, you are still hitting a man size target at 600 yds. Assuming a 12" chest area, 2moa will get you there. I realistically think 600 is the top end on a .223. You're delivering about what a 9mm does at the muzzle from a .223 at 600. Anything further, you need more gun.

All I'm saying is think about how much accuracy you need for your intended mission.

Under budget even when you add a premium trigger and your stock of choice.
I have the 18"BCM stainless upper with rifle gas paired with a BCM lower and Geiselle SSA trigger. With good ammo it's sub MOA for groups of 10 regularly. It has been 100% reliable.

Was that by chance with the gong at the Tucson Rifle Club?

I have the BCM Precision 16. It is definitely the best of both worlds....

Right now I'm thinking about a larue predatar in 5.56 or bcm kmr precision or knights armament. Im really leaning toward the larue what do you guys think I really want to best accuracy I can get say at 100 yards I know the larue says less than moa.

optics will be a bushnell elite 3.5-21x50 for long ranges then switching out to a 1-4 both have larue qd mounts so I can do this.
