Thanks for the responses. I know ammo quality makes a huge difference, but soundslike its a 2moa gun. That's fine just wanted to have a basic reference point to start at.

I have a few. With good ammo they'll all do about 2-3''. I have one with a rail that'll get around 1.5''. Good enough for 99% of AR applications.

I wouldn't be busting out match ammo yet. Get yourself to where you can shoot 3-4" irons groups at 100 first... using ball ammo

The gun is likely capable of around MOA (1" at 100 with good 77 gr or 69 gr OTM bullets) It's not uncommon for most of the regular Chrome lined barrels from BCM or COLT these days to get around MOA with ammo and a magnified optic.

My 6920 with larue rail and ML3 shoots 1-2 MOA with M855 and M193.
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

Free floated chrome lined barrels are capable of a lot more than what most people give them credit for. For instance, my 16" CL barrel shoots ~.75moa with my 77gr handloads using a nice trigger (SD-C) & magnified optic. And this isn't an isolated incident. Many others have had the same or similar results.

I would learn to shoot as well as possible as it is right now. Then move onto free-floating, nice trigger, magnified optics, etc. when you have some proficiency with it.

My experience matches Onyx Z's. Just by the nature of the kind of shooting we do... we run almost everything through some sort of accuracy test.

I can't remember any barrel that we couldn't at least get down to 1.5" at 100.... and those are like the 10.5" barrels that we just test with a Red dot or something.

The 6920s I have had have always been more than accurate enough for their intended use, and performed at least as well as the competitors.

Onyx Z, CL - Chrome Lined or CL - Compass Lake?
