Wondering if there is a hi cap option coming.
Great feedback, thanks. I'm hoping Colt can figure this out and field a truly reliable design. If Colt wants to market a 9mm just to expand the 1911 line and boost sales, great, but if they are not improving what others have already done then I don't think Colt will be very successful reinventing that particular wheel. In the meantime, it looks like 9x23/38 super would be better options for absolute reliability since COAL and case length are very close to that of the 45 ACP. So, slightly off topic, would it make sense for Colt to market a new line of handguns in a caliber/chambering that is cheap and plentiful (9mm) or the 9x23/38 super that so far seems to be limited to IDPA/IPSC competitors?

Does Colt make anything that isn't reliable? That's like the one thing people can't really take away it seems, unless there are models I'm not thinking about. I'm sure they can make a reliable 9mm.

As mentioned earlier I'd love to see a Colt in 9X23 again, except with a ramped barrel. Always thought it was a neat round.

I would love to see a light weight government model. I think it would make a great carry gun

I would be thrilled to see them include 38 Super in the XSE line up.

I'm interested in that Gold Cup. Also, a carbon steel series 70 commander in .45 would be cool to replace my current O4691. This is a very interesting revelation.

Hope they bring on more 70 series stuff, and keep the GI slide serrations.

I have a Colt .38 super auto, about a year old. It has been 100% reliable, fun, accurate and easy to shoot well. I reload so ammo isn't a problem with one caveat, brass. Since I am used to picking up brass at the range it has been hard to swallow having to pay for it and now I hate to loose it. It's a great round but I wish it were more common. A 9mm makes much more sense for the average IDPA competitor and casual shooter. I think a Colt 9mm will sell.

If I could just get more people to buy .38 supers...

I bought my O2991 within the past year. I love the pistol but I sure wish ammo was easier to find (and cheaper too).

Cool! Keep buying those super autos so ammo prices can go down...

The first thing I thought when I saw this thread was "It'd be awesome if they brought out a bunch of 9mm 1911s that worked as good as their 45's and 38 Supers." My next thought was, "If Colt is potentially closing, I better go buy another 38 Super asap!"
