Yeah, In the past couple years I've been trying to buy every Colt I think I'll ever want. I'll buy an O1992 if and when they release another batch. My NHC Talon 9mm came with Tripp Cobra mags so I bought a dozen more of them. So far, no FTF's. I suspect a lot of reliability issues can be tied to magazines rather than the pistol itself (which applies to .45's as well for that matter).

Glad to see colt jump in the market.

I have a springer in 9mm that was finiky as hell. However once I had Teddy Jackobson out of sugar land texas perform an action reliability job to it I have yet to have a failure. Feeds everything from cast lead to hollow points. Been more than 3k rounds through it since his action job. I'll typically clean it every thousand rounds or so.

I just saw an article, looked like they are launching:

    9mm XSE
    9mm XSE Lightweight
    9mm Commander Lightweight
    9mm Commander

no mention of GI config though...

Looking on Lipseys website I saw a stainless 1991 style, a blued 1991 combat commander style, and a LW Commander XSE style. That's the one I am looking to get.

How did it it take me a month to find this thread?

A Colt 9mm 1911 Rail Gun would be the end all be all of handguns.
Why do the loudest do the least?

If it fed reliably with my favorite Wilson mags, I'd buy one. It would always be just a fun range gun, but I'd definitely buy one.

Colt occasionally made 9MMs for the US market in the past. I have a 9MM 1991 that I picked lightly used a number of years ago. Most however were exported to Europe, and someone earlier in the thread mentioned exports to Australia. I think the recent TALO run, and the interest from competitors, and the new offerings from Springfield may have helped convince Colt there is a US market for a 9MM 1911. I think a 5" Gov`t model, Commander, and a Rail Gun offering would do well.
