I remember that recently a guy shot his hand up with a KSG. I think the sgory was that he had a foregrip but it broke off the rail on the pump arm (in line with the flmisy construction mentioned here) and his hand ended up in front of the muzzle (in line with the aggressive pumping needed to make it work mentioned here).

I can think of many, many other shotguns I would rather have for the money, like a 590a1, Nova, Supernova, 870P, Winchester 1200/1300, Beretta 1301, or an M1 Super 90 to name a few.

I was initially interested in the concept when they first came out, but the initial reviews quickly deterred me from ever pursuing one. If the accident story is true (snopes had nothing on it), it is a serious issue IMO.

A pump, bull pup shotgun where my support hand running the fore end can reach in front of the muzzle if it slips or the vertical grip breaks has no place in my gun inventory.

Go in peace, but be prepared for violence.

Buddy of mine bought one, and after checking it out I see nothing it brings to the table over a 870 for defensive work.

For the KSG's high price, you could probably do better with a Mossberg930 nine or ten-shot, or a Saiga12.

Although recently I've seen the price of KSG go down below $700. I still wouldn't buy one though..

Failures were reported back in 2012... Well before the source of this lawsuit, it seems.

From what I can gather, the KSG is now "Gen2" but I'm not sure what changes they made. Lots of accessories here it seems, to address various shortcomings, including a dedicated aluminum charging handle: http://www.hitechcc.com/category/ksg.html

That's horrific, this alone should be enough to convince anyone not to buy this poorly built piece of crap.

Whatever percentage you want to cut the pie, some say they work fine, some say junk. But that along with the MAC review and the one I handled, the glass is empty for me on the KSG for sure. Looks cool in show biz I guess.

I should add... KSG is actually at "Gen 3" now, it sounds, fwiw. I'll stick to my Mossberg 590A1.

I bought one of the first ksg bullpups , i paid around 1020.00 for it , i kept it about 3 years, the best thing i did was put a compensator on it i shot 3 inch 00 buckshot, slugs, and birdshot, mine didn't hurt my shoulder i liked it a lot but loading it was the hardest part , the shell had to be positioned just right to go into the tube, if a shell ever did jam or hang it was really tough to get it out , i used a trijicon yellow dot sight worked great, i recently traded it for a kalisupup saiga 12 i love this gun it will shoot anything and has no recoil , i liked the keltec but like the kalisupup better.
