I did read the chart... but im not buying a high end rifle for my first gun. And did you know that the lowers for RRA and STAG are made buy the same company? I might do a STAG lower and a RRA upper.

I figured out that if i buy a Lower from STAG and an Upper w/quadrail from RRA it would be around $1015. Where as if i were to buy a complete rifle from RRA with quad rail it would be around $1200.

Man Alive! I bought my first Colt Match HBAR for $1800 NIB back in 1992. Sold it in '97 for a measly sum of $600.00. That's when I was living in Cali-Forn-Ia.

Fast forward to this year 2008 and I've been completely out of touch with ARs. Did my research on another forum (begins with U) and kept on hearing about LMT. Funny thing is, one could say it's my first AR Flat-Top purchase. I was almost about to buy one of those LMT.MRP.CQB but ended up with a Noveske.N4LR because of the fellow at the dealer. He shouldn't have brought it out. . .Of course YMMV.

Again, hope you find what you're looking for and Enjoy!

Why not? Is it better to buy cheap, learn your lesson and then buy expensive. Also as an FYI, you can build an LMT for under $1k.

Yes, we all know that CMT (parent company of Stag) build lowers for MANY companies.

My first and, thus far, only 5.56 AR is a Colt 6920. Rather than looking at the problem as a high-end rifle versus not, I looked at it as a high-function rifle versus not, a rifle that stands the best chance of continuing to function in adverse conditions given a proper and well-established care routine. This way offers the best statistical chance of having to buy a rifle once.

People on another fourm have told me that they have RRA and they have shot 2000 rounds without cleaning it and it works like a charm. So ... this is going to be my first rifle... not my last.

Any AR can shoot 2K without cleaning it as long as you put lube in it. This would also be considered a bad idea.

Again, becareful who you take information from as you don't know if they are lying or not (or know what they are even talking about).

As I have said many times, you can build an LMT for under $1k. This gun kicks the crap out of just about every other AR made so why settle for a gun that is basically the same price without the same quality???
