The quad rail that comes with the RRA is junk so get it out of your mind.

You don't need the quad rail right now.

You need to learn how to shoot the basic gun with basic handguards and stock.

Try to look at this from my point of view.. a few people on here seem to think it would be better for me to get LMT or Colt... when a lot more people think i should go with RRA upper and the STAG lower. Im not going to be throwing this thing in the ground... im going to go maybe like everyother weekend and shoot 100 rounds and thats it. Then id clean the gun everytime i shoot. But thanks for all of the information everyone has given me. Im pretty much on a budget rifle and next time ill spend more money and get a Colt or LMT or Some other high end gun. This might not be the end so dont be surprised if you see me post again.

Look at it from our point of view.

The people on here have been working with AR-15s their entire adult life or more.

I have been building AR-15s since I was 12 years old.

The people on ARFCOM do not have these qualifications.

You think you are trying to purchase a "beginner's gun" and start out with something conservative monetarily.

What you should be doing for a "beginner's gun" is buying a high end, no accessories rifle and learn how to use it.

You can upgrade this gun at a later date with a rail and optic, thus skipping over the RRA completely.

Depending on which quad rail (say like an MI #17) I think you could get to right around $1000.

What you have to ask is; do the people telling you to buy a RRA and a Stag know WTF they are talking about?? My guess is no.

So the question I have for you is if you have $1K to spend, why mess around with a cheap AR that is not built properly when you could have one that is? Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Again, i must pose a question. How can that graph be refuted?

It clearly shows based upon proven FACTS, ie properly staked carriers keys are IMPORTANT for operation, that a tier 1 and 2 gun is the way to go.

If you're going to spend 1k why not save a few extra pennies and spend 200 dollars more and get an LMT.

I just dont get it. Why are people so happy to spend money on products which are arguably inferior? Are they good enough for a range session or two, three or four times a month, yeah, absolutely but why not buy what is PROVEN to be better for almost the same money?

    Buy right or buy twice.

The second you screw up your BCG because the carrier wasnt staked properly you've already started wasting money. There's no guarantee that this is going to happen but again the likelihood is higher.

Anyway, its the american way, if you want a RRA go for it man, if thats whats going to make you happy all the more power to you.

This is a very good question. What I cannot comprehend is why anyone would buy a RRA and a Stag for the same price as an LMT????????????? Makes zero sense to me, but what do I know.
