Leatherwood Hi-Lux CMR 1-4x24 ...anybody have one?

Hey guys Im wrapping up an AR15 build and I would like to buy a scope. Black friday is around the corner and Im sure there will be deals out there. First off let me say....I am new to the AR game and I am on a budget that does not allow for a vortex, leupold, etc, etc. The rifle is a 14.5" middy that will be used for hog hunting and fun at the range. I may try my hand at a competition with it one day but Im not building it with that in mind. My furthest shot will likely be inside 100 yards but My local range does go out to 200 yards. I think 1-4x will be sufficient for these distances and I came across this scope. does anybody have any experience with them? They seem to have great reviews and a ton of features. I have seen them for around $300 but I want some info from people with experience with them.

    1. Glass Etched BDC Reticle - Glass etched reticle allows for more intricate reticle design. This reticle is designed specifically for standard .223 & .308 service ammo at 600 meters.
    2. Illuminated Reticle - Illuminated circle and center dot allow for quicker target acquisition. Available in green or red illumination.
    3. Multi-Coated Lenses - All exterior air-glass lenses are treated with DiamondTuff14™ to ensure optimal light transmission for more visibility in low light situations.
    4. Nitrogen Gas Purged - All scopes are purged with nitrogen gas to ensure they remain fogproof for wide range of temperatures.
    5. Waterproof - Rubber O-ring prevents moisture, dust and debris particles from penetrating the scope.
    6. Second Focal Plane - The reticle stays the same size even when adjusting the magnification of the scope. Allows operator to easily estimate range.
    7. Perma-Coat - Soft-luster blue-black finish coat is applied to the body of the scope. Ensures coat is wear resistant and protects exterior from scratches.
    8. “ZRO-LOK” System - Offers more accurate adjustment tracking for windage and elevation.
    9. Tri-Center Spring Tension - Single piece rifle scope construction allows for optimal waterproofing and tensile strength design.
    10. One piece Aluminum Tube - Single piece rifle scope construction allows for optimal waterproofing and tensile strength design.
    11. Minute of Angle Adjustment - 1 click to ˝ MOA adjustment.
Once the scope is zero locked, scope has one full turn of adjustment (28.5MOA)

The 1X isn't quite 1X, maybe 1.1-2. The reticle is pretty thin, but if your eyes are good you should be gtg. Not daylight vis on the reticle illumination, if that matters to you. Other things I don't like much, just my opinion, is the exposed turrets. One of the cool things is the inexpensive zoom lever you can buy for it. Glass was decent for the price range.

If it was me, I'd probably go for the Primary Arms 1-6 for less.

Ya that was another one I was considering. I like the extra 2x of magnification. The reticle is a little busy looking though.

I don't know, the reticles seem about the same as far as business.

Ya....you know after I posted that I looked it up and found it to be pretty simple actually....I think the ranging box is what threw me off....not something I'm used to seeing in any of my scopes(hunting scopes)....well dang... I was almost decided......thanks for that

The CMR4 is supposed to have better glass and reticle for another $150 or so. No first hand experience with it though. Am considering one for my carbine.

When I had one my feeling about it was "eh". I was not overly impressed or underimpressed just "eh". If you are truly on a "budget" I would look hard at the primary arms scope line up.

Ya so do I....but like I said I'm in a budget and it's not in the cards for this rifle.

I've been looking at the more affordable price range and there is so much junk out there.....like anyone I just want the best bang for my buck....(see what I did there
