I have a M73G4 Hi Lux on a 1903A4 replica rifle and have fired both GI and commercial 30-06 without any issues. The commercial 30-06 induces a lot more recoil than GI ball. I have not owned the rifle very long and am still apprehensive about durability.
Mine will be tested on a SCAR 17 which are known to be "optic killers" we shall see.

That should be a good test. Let us know how it works out. More, and more, I want a lighter optic on my carbine, but one that gives some magnification. I am leaning towards adding a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 to the mix, and see how that works out.

    I shoot 100 yards + a few...right out back of my house
I assure you the optic will be torture tested (as claims are about SCARs and optics).
    Looking forward to results myself.

You guys with SCARs, have you tried mounts with crossbolts and nuts to hold onto the rail or are you using quick detach levers? Rumor has it optic survivability is improved when mounted with the former, at least on those scope killing SCARs. May not be enough to make a difference on a budget optic like this but since you're going to do it anyway why not give it a fighting chance?

Mine came with SWFA SSALT mount as I listed earlier.
It is a " get me by " set up for me personally until I save up for a USO 1-8 and pass the CMR down to an AR later.
The scope and mount set up seem very solid for the money.
Has warranty, and I'm not afraid to test it out for the $ I spent on it, I'm skeptical on the whole SCAR recoil vs optics anyway, so I'm just going to see for myself.

What about the 3x magnifier option? Primary arms makes one to compliment my micro dot from them.

I had a thought last night that this may be the "scratch to my itch" until I decide what I want. I'm just learning about MOA, MIL, FFP, Reticle size importance......the info out there is daunting

You may also want to rethink the QD mount if your not going to war with the rifle. Does really matter to you if it takes one minute or three second to remove your scope? QD mounts are heavy and expensive. Take a look at the Aero Precision ultralight mounts. They are lighter by 4-5 ounces than most QD mounts and under $100. You won't find a better built mount at any price. Pm me an email address if you want pictures.

Yep, none QD mounts are cheaper and unless you are playing musical optics or planning using the rifle for HD or combat QD mounts are not really required. Also, if you torque a none QD mount down to the same spot RTZ should be pretty decent. I think there were a few members here who were having standard ACOG mounts RTZ within an MOA or so.

Return to zero will be more consistent with a non QD mount. Especially one with 3 clamp screws like the AP mount. Both mounts index off of the static side of the clamp. QD mounts suffer from stretch and cam wear every time you open and close them.

Not something I knew.......this definitely changes the game plan. I like the idea of my micro dot, but I also like the idea of magnification and a rock solid reticle......i guess a non qd mount is what I want.... Plus my rifle is made up of AP parts.

I too am backtracking on the whole QD mount thing. With the plethora of offset sights and MRDS mounting options out there the QD really redundant. Even in combat I can't imagine taking the time to swap optics during a fight rather than taking care of business with the BUIS or MRDS and then taking the time to sort the gun out once things are safe.
