Stay away from leather wood. Look at the super sniper line of scopes, they are good budget optics. You can get vortex in the price range you want too. I have a pst vortex 6-24 on my bolt rifle, vortex makes a damned good optic. I've had that scope since the day they hit the shelves (sn 11). It tracks true and has stood up to a lot of abuse.

Have you used/owned a Leatherwood Hi Lux CMR 1-4?
If so, what issues did you have to say stay away?

Have not owned one, friend did though he had a lot of problems with it. Glass wasn't good, wouldn't track, wouldn't hold zero. Not sure the model.

I have the CMR, no complaints of glass or clarity at all, MAC hit the nail on the head to rival the quality of glass to higher end optics IMO, I've looked through several Vortex, Leupold, and Nightforce scopes I agree with him on that.

Holding zero.... I only have 100 rnds down range with mine on SCAR, so can't give a true evaluation of that just yet, but so far so good.

The one I saw/had experience with was on a remmy 700 243 bbl. I would take a little less quality glass for better internals than have crystal clear glass and not have a scope track, in general. Glad yours is working for you.

Yea, that's the test for me at this point, the more rounds without any issues means the most after the first initial impression. The design/reticle/illumination, are everything I had hoped for, just hoping it stays true.

I have mines permanently on my Aug and it performs great. The green illumination is not the greatest in the daytime but it works.

This is one of the scopes on my radar too. I'm just not sure how much other than hunting I'll use a low power variable. Keep us updated as you grow into it more.

Have any of you guys used the reticle mil adjustments? How do they work for holdover shots?

Thought I'd give an update on the CMR after about 500 rounds or so on the SCAR 17, and hate to say it has fell off a chair in the garage smack dab on top of the scope onto a concrete floor. But however I was eager to see what was going to happen afterwords. Using the same ammo PMC 147 gr went back to the range this weekend to find out and I was pleasantly suprised.

Held zero just fine so far. I'll give another update when I reach 1K rounds. But overall I'm still pleased with the scope.

Work so hard that one day your signature will be called an autograph.
