Okay, the X-Wings buzzing the lake was pretty badass.
I've got some new hope that this one won't suck like I thought it would.

Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.
Indeed!! Their wings look different if you pause it on a large screen. Maybe it's an upgraded version? To use the earlier F-15 analogy, it could be like the F-15E where we saw the A model in episode VI? I also noticed that the Falcon has a new squared satellite/comm dish.
Before you suggest that licensing, background checks, or other restrictions for the 2nd Amendment are reasonable... Apply those same ideas to the 1st and 4th Amendments. Then tell me how reasonable they are.

They're probably the MkII X-Wings (X-Wing MkIIs?) that were shown during JJ's call to action or whatever for some cancer or disease or something.
I'm kinda disappointed in the lack of, well, stars in this teaser. But then, it is a teaser and it is an Abrams movie. And it doesn't give us anything more solid than Spock in a volcano did for Into Darkness.
Color me strange, but I can't wait for the LEGO sets to come out. And I'm still horked that they moved the release from early-to-mid-May (when every other Star Wars movie has been released - and also around/about my birthday) to December.

I'll just leave this here:
I remembered that, but I guess I figured they'd have replaced it with one just like it. I was thinking the one in the teaser was newer technology, more efficient, etc. Perhaps Lando's piloting was the excuse for the upgrade. I don't know anything about the Star Wars universe between episodes 6 and 7.

The only things considered official are:
Ep 1-7, Clone Wars tv series, Clone Wars movie, Rebels tv series, and books released since September this year. I think two books, New Dawn (a prequel for Rebels, which takes place between 3 and 4) and Tarkin, about the guy who commanded and died on the first Death Star.
