The new light saber with the guard that would actually injure the user sucks.
Lucas needs to stop reinventing the wheel. The light saber staff crap in the prequels what stupid enough.

Disney bought them out but I thought I saw the Lucas Film logo in the trailer.
ETA: this version has the Lucas Film logo.

Before you suggest that licensing, background checks, or other restrictions for the 2nd Amendment are reasonable... Apply those same ideas to the 1st and 4th Amendments. Then tell me how reasonable they are.
Is this legit? It says it was posted in January 2014...

Never mind. Seems there are lots of fakes. I never saw Enders Game so I didn't recognize Solo as a borrowed clip.

Lucas devised neither the double-bladed lightsaber nor the forked lightsaber.
Lucasfilm is owned wholly and entirely by Disney. I'm sure Disney/Lucasfilm and Abrams were interested in Lucas's opinions on the movie, his opinion carried only what weight Disney/Lucasfilm and Abrams allowed him. Lucas no longer has an iota (or a Yoda, if you prefer) of control over the Star Wars franchise.
Some of those people are probably members of the 501st Legion. They take their costuming hobby very seriously. But they also use it for a good cause: Raising money for charities, letting kids who have terminal illness play out a bit of their Star Wars fantasies (like a shopping mall Santa), &c. I believe one Australian member was or is walking around the outside of the continent in costume (Sandtrooper/Desert Stormtrooper) to raise money and awareness to combat some highly lethal childhood disease.
And in fairness, a lot of people would probably say that civilians - us - who spend thousands of dollars on guns, equipment, and training and spend their weekends practicing to shoot other human beings have real issues, too.![]()

A fan base for an epic film series isn't peculiar to me. I guess I have a hard time understanding that level of cult following, it just seems odd to me.
