Those M203 hangers shoot loose and will rattle around after awhile. I wouldn't install 'em anyway. You have to remove the rail to get 'em off.

Has the Army ever taken barrels with a FSB and put A RIS II on it?

If they did, did they shave the FSB or did they just put a MK12 gas block on the barrel that had already been drilled for pins?

    Thanks
They do have the RIS II FSP rail, which is in use but pretty rare. But the rifles that were converted from what I understand mostly got low profile gas blocks and the standard RIS II.

Oh, and don't get into the Block II addiction if you can help it. It's expensive.

How close one wants to be to a real clone is a big question. For myself, I couldn't care less about stampings or roll-marks. I would use a BCM as a base, and I would be fine with it. I also couldn't care less if it was a mid-length gas system instead of a carbine, in fact I'd prefer it. It's the look, the fantasy of it, that's important. And if it actually shoots better because it's not an exact clone, even better.

And hell, there are so many SOPMOD variations out there in use, it's hard to do it wrong.

I would take a BCM mid-length 14.5"/DD RISII, and even use a Gunfighter comp instead of an A2. Add an ACOG/Eotech, Tango Down VFG, correct BUISs, and light..........and even use a gunfighter grip, and still call it good.

    YMMV.
Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus (519 BC – 430 BC) Power should only be given to those that want it least.

Hey guys...I built a Block II when I returned home from Afghanistan at the end of 2013 and then sold it...wish I hadn't!

Anyways, I'm going to be in the process of building another and was curious if anyone knows anywhere to find a Taupe KAC front sight anymore. I did a quick search earlier and was unable to find any. Everything else shouldn't be a problem for me to track down.

As far as the Taupe front sight goes, as of yesterday operation parts.com had a few of them in-stock. I only know because I was praying that they had the KAC 45 deg sights back in-stock, no such luck....

http://tradingplacepawn.com/knights-...ght-taupe.html. Make sure you use coupon code 10off to bring it down to $179 shipped. That's the best price you'll find.

Mr. Peacewalker, I have two DD M4A1s. They're my favorite rifles I have. I have an EOTech EXPS3 on them with DD fixed front/rear sights. The only difference between the two is one has a BCM Gunfighter vertical grip and the other has a Magpul RVG. Oh, and one is snug with very little play. The other has some upper/lower wiggle. Luck of the draw, I guess.
