    Aimpoint PRO mount options....

I am going to be purchasing an Aimpoint PRO within the next four to six weeks, so I am looking for any input that I can get regarding mounts. Is the mount that Aimpoint ships with it a quality mount or would I be better served by going with a Larue Tactical mount for it? I'm very new to the AR scene and any advice is greatly appreciated.

The mount that comes with the pro will serve you well. It just depends on if you want a QD mount or not.

FYI lapolicegear has the pro for $353 will code cyber2014. That's the lowest I've seen in awhile.

The mount that comes on the Pro sucks. Issues with it are well documented here.

I didn't notice any issues with the PRO mount but I have since replaced it with an ADM mount.

You will be better served by using a new mount. I prefer ADM over Larue, but that's just my preference.

The mount that comes with the PRO sucks. I got an ADM shortly after buying mine and couldn't be happier. I prefer ADM over Larue due to the fact that the Larue latch spins/tightens directly to the receiver while the ADM has a small section that grabs the rail.

Would the ADM mount you guys are mentioning be the AD-68C Cantilever Aimpoint mount?

Either that or the AD-68 non-cantilever.

The crappy mount makes the PRO a non value purchase for me. But at that $350ish sale price... it starts to approach the good value range.

What sucks about the pro mount besides the large knob? It is QD in my opinion. I never used the stock mount on my pro so I didn't get to experience all the problems with it, lol.
