I am seriously thinking about trying one of these on one of my 870's. I have one that I use as a testbed, with your shotgun stock and an H-1.

Why is it that I buy something then something better comes out?

I've never been a fan of padded slings until now, I never liked the tendency to roll or bunch, or the necessary folds and stitching to secure the padded portion to the sling webbing. I still use non-padded slings on carbines and SMGs, but now I have an option for long guns and other heavy platforms instead of sucking it up and having the sling dig into me.

The team worked really hard to overcome the constraints of the traditionally constructed padded sling, and the result accomplished everything they set out to do. The more I use it, the happier I am with it.

Great picture. I see an ms1 in my future.

M4 guru, how do you like the pig saddle/ tri pod combo? That's what I asked Santa for this year.

That is a very nice rifle setup in that picture. I've been staring at it five minutes. Thanks for sharing.

I have the HOG Saddle, and there are a few PIG Saddles at work. I really like it, since you can't see much from the prone outside of a range. The tripods are adjustable so they'll work from the sitting, kneeling, standing, or prone even if you modify them. Rig up a sling from the tripod to your body and they provide a super stable firing position that excels at reducing fatigue and engaging targets in array.

They're also good for photos, spotting scopes, Kestrels, or about anything else you want to prop up off of the ground.

Thanks for correcting my typo. Picture is clearly the HOG saddle.

To add support with a sling on the tripod, do you just wrap it on the support hand, or is another method used?

I unhook the rear QD, run it behind my belt, and plug it back in. I can step back a couple of inches and put tension on it, it works pretty well.
