My searching actually showed the clamp ins were better? You got a source/reason?

When you tighten a clamp on gas block to a barrel, it actually stretches around the barrel and stresses the clamp. If you never remove it, it might be fine, but set screw blocks are far superior IMO.

I was under the understanding that a clamp was superior due to the even pressure applied around the entire barrel.

Never said one way or another. Just seems they fell out of popularity and people moved on.

Well.....it seems to be a functional addition. I've seen a lot of variations. The latest being an actual ambi lower.....which I don't have so I sprung for it. I'll take it off if it's dead weight.

BAD levers are OK, but ambi control lower are better. As for gas blocks, best to pin it IMO.

I agree I wish my lower was ambi. I don't feel like sending my gun out to pin the gas block. The clamp on will be under the rail and will be torqued properly with thread locker. Everything I read says its G2G.

Which thread lock, as most loose strength with heat. Rocksett would be a good locker to use IMO.
