That's at the top of my list. Either that or the new loctite.

I tried one a couple years ago due to a Black Friday special, just tacked it on to an order.

I decided against it for some reasons you'll see other people point out when the topic comes up
-Not every rifle will have them, might not want to get used to running it
-Antagonizes potentially putting finger inside trigger guard when you are not intending to fire
-Can be bumped accidentally. A class I went to earlier this year an experienced shooter did exactly that, and dropped the bolt before the magazine was inserted. In front of everybody.

Except pinning it isn't necessary and it has been proven time and again. You dimple the barrel, use correct prep and Loctite 271 and it will be just fine.

Couple of folks have had a problem with the screws busticating with the clamp on gas block. It's a common problem with this type of clamping device in general

I use the Phase 5 Tactical EBRv2 Extended Bolt Release on all of my builds.
This replaces the bolt release instead of being bolted to it.
It greatly reduces the instances where a bolt fails to lock back on an empty (proven good) mag.
In over 1,000 reloads I've never experienced a failure to lock back using the EBRv2.
Our 5 round semi auto rifle mag limit up here in the great white north allows for plenty of practice in changing mags.

The reason I use an extended bolt release is so that my right hand never leaves the grip of my rifle.

I would have gotten the phase 5 but I already installed the bolt catch and didn't want to deal with taking it out. It does seem to be a superior design.

Well some of the parts came in today and installed them quick and easy. Minimalist stock is tight and to spec, noveske short throw 60 selector was drop in and feels crisp.(still points to the markings), BAD lever went on in seconds. The seekins mag release button feels heavier and better built and also extends just little more than the one from the no name parts kit.
