The Destruction of AAC from within.

I have heard about what Freedom Group did to Kevin Brittingham, then Mike Mers, now it seems and can possibly be verified a 100% that Cerberus/Freedom Group is trying to totally destroy and dissolve AAC with John Hollister and Derek Smith leaving the company, not to mention them laying off everyone from the original company and eventually assimilating the entire line of suppressors and technology into "Remington Accesories". What I'm curious to know is peoples views/opinions on the whole situation. Also with Kevin moving to Sig's suppressor line, how do you think that will fair? Do you think his work there will be as good if not better than AAC?

This company move to Alabama has been known for a long time now. The current GA building was the fourth location, by the way. Alabama will be the fifth location. The article cited above is incorrect, and AAC silencers are not going anywhere.

I am just curious who I will send my suppressor to when the current latch wears out. The one I have is showing signs of wear like the first one that had all the teeth rounded to nubs.

rsilvers great info man! Thanks for taking the time to reply, that's great to hear that AAC will be around for quite some time! I've got one of their cans and was looking to purchase another when I read the TTAG article.

I'm sure there will be a few things that get lost in the restructuring, but that happens with any changes of this magnitude. I've purchased two AAC cans this year with no worries about them disappearing. I think the rebate program has helped AAC gain a significant foothold on new suppressor purchasers. Personally our store sold about fifteen cans last month. A dozen of those were AAC. Helped a first time buyer with a 556 SD and Tirant 45 this afternoon.

LOL, ok, AAC has CLEARLY imploded but the one guy here who still works for Remington says otherwise, no story, nothing to see here

I like you Robert, but come on man, is there a single person from the company three years ago is still there minus sort-of-you? Hollister leaving is news to me, doesn't surprise me though. I don't think it's incorrect to say that while AAC may (however unlikely) still become something greater than it has been in the past (not in terms of sales, but rather perception, I'm sure sales are higher than anytime that KB was running it), it's not even remotely the same company just moved to Alabama. Saying so appears to me as an outsider to be disingenuous.

But... It's none of my business. So far as I go, now that the Ranger3 is dropped, I'm waiting to see what SIG is going to offer as nothing CCA looks great to me.

Mike Smith, the guy who designed most of the silencers including the M4-2000, the Evolution-9, all of the pistol boosters, and on and on. He is there. The guy who designed the baffles for the Tirant - he is there.

I designed the Blackout rifles, have the patent for several of the silencers like the TiTan, the Blackout flash suppressor, and the BrakeOut 2. I also created the Cyclops, and some products coming out next year.

Can you name even one AAC product that was designed by someone who no longer works there? The only one that I can think of is the MG-SD.
