13 inch handguard on a 12.5 inch gun...

Is this possible to do? Muzzle device will probably be standard A2 or BCM comp.

I also figured it would be advantageous to put a hand stop at the end of the rail to avoid any accidental hand-creepage into the muzzle blast.

Any photos of this being done?

    Thanks guys

Got a 13 inch HG that needs to be used...and my long arms need just about all that length.

i seen on here a while back where someone put a warning up about this. the muzzle blast actually blew apart the end of the rail as the flash hider was inside the rail. if you search it you might find it but i would advise against it.

I've seen this done a number of times with the Noveske KX3, but it obviously needs a handguard with a large enough inner diameter to work. I definitely don't see any reason to get anywhere near a muzzle device with open sides though. Putting even the end of the handguard over it makes it too likely that your fingers will get close to it (and the gas and debris coming out the sides), even if the rail isn't damaged immediately.
