I'm saying that's what I would do. I do have one gun that just has a flip up KAC sight, but it's strictly a recreational blaster. My serious guns have cut down carry handles behind the optic... Similar to the LMT fixed sight. If they didn't have the optic, it'd be full carry handle all the way.

I should have been more clear. I wouldn't buy a rifled with a FSB if I thought I would ever want to put scope of any kind on it. Why would you? Why would you give up any of your FOV? With a dot sight used properly with both eyes open the front sight isn't there. You should be able to run a dot with the front cap closed. It's when you start aiming it with your weak eye closed you see the front sight. Same with a magnified optic. At higher power you may not see the ghost of the FSB but it is still there and you cannot see through it. People do it all the time but that doesn't mean it works for me. Why do you think folding BUIS are so popular?
At 4x I don't see a FSB.

I really want to get a BCM carry handle. I have a BCM 14.5 middy I am leaving with iron sights and mil-spec trigger to force myself to train with. I currently have the MBUS pro's and they are great but the more I think about it I come to the conclusion that what you are saying is true...Im running back up sights as my primary and that just seems counter productive!
