I believe it disappears around 2.75x but I could be wrong. You won't see "what is behind it" with any scope at that power.

You won't see what is behind it at any power unless you have X-ray vision!

The DD fixed and the LMT fixed are both nice. I'd only recommend the LMT, but it has the tard knob on the left side where I run my light... right in the way.

XRay vision wouldn't help you. The sight can't be seen at 4x. The sight isn't what limits your FOV, magnification is.

i read your thread on this. I like the look of the LMT. also found the DPMS one that looks the same and is steel.

I read a brownells review on the DPMS and the guy commented on the crazy weight of the thing. I'd have been all over it, but I realized how hard the impact on my broken DD sight was. I steel sight would have only yielded more damage to my rail.

Just get a take off carry handle and chop it down as mentioned earlier. That way you trim off a little weight and can still use the rear sight if you add an Aimpoint later. That's what I use on my beater.

The carry handle can take some serious abuse and has lots of time in combat to prove it. If I am running irons only I'm using a carry handle or an A2 upper.

FSB/Fixed Rear/Carry Handle. Everything else is pissing up a rope.
