    Does anyone sell SBR lowers?

A business that has SBR'd lowers you pay for, they ship it to your local Class III guy to hold until your paperwork comes back? i.e. you wouldn't have to buy a lower and then send it off to be engraved and such.....it'd already be considered an SBR lower.

    No, and here's why:

Because you cannot sell an SBR unless it is an SBR. A receiver without a barrel length <16" is not an SBR.

Engraving is really not a big deal.

There's no such thing as an SBR lower. That's why you can't buy one.

You can register your own weapon and build an SBR, or you can buy a complete one and transfer it on a Form 4.

I could sell you one of my registered lowers, but it would be sold as a GCA firearm with no ATF involvement. You couldn't make it an SBR without paying the $200 and waiting your time, and then you'd have to engrave it again even with my info already on it.

I was trying to avoid having to buy a complete SBR just to get the lower as I have a couple uppers currently as pistols that I'd use on the SBR lower.

Oh well, thanks for the input.

Form 1s are taking a month! Now is prime time to SBR!

    Time wise, you'd be foolish not to F1 it versus a F4. You're looking at a 1 month(ish) window vice a 9+ month(ish) window.

Chances are you don't need to send it off to be engraved. A local trophy guy did mine for $20 with about an hour turn around. No complaints at all. And a 31 day Eforms Form 1 turn around is hard to beat.

I believe Rainier Arms can do this. Or why not buy a factory SBR?

    Form 1 + E-file seems like a no brainer.

It's more like 4 1/2 months for form 4s to come back at this point.
