    Hopefully this hasn't already been posted here, but I was reading up on Cerakoting and found this. I am astonished and appalled that this guy set this whole thing up inside an apartment unit, also impressed at his determination as someone else in the thread mentioned. Anyway, have a look, it is one heck of a post.

    I was tempted to try cerkoting but then I found out there's a local guy who will do pistols for $75, $125 if he disassembles and reassembles. not worth my time at that rate.

    Gunsmithing Hall of Shame Thread

    I did this several years ago. I bought a used G19.2 police trade in. Internals looked almost new, but the slide had a lot of holster wear. So I decided to see if I could polish it. I figured if I didnt like it I could always get it Cerakoted, which I did recently.
    It took about Eight total hours of work.

    You could have chromed it and sold it on gun broker.

    He could have just said it was chromed and sold it on GB. Great polishing job; I couldn't get bored enough to take on a project like that!

    something like that might make a good presentation piece for a retiring leo or something similar. that's a heck of a good polishing job imo.
