It is a 300BLK AR with no gas port/block. The gun is a manually-operated, single-shot side-charger. He used a side-charging upper/BCG and cut the rear of the BCG off so the buffer tube isn't needed.

Those are old pics, I'll see if I can get newer ones. I don't think the gun qualifies for Hall-of-Shame, it really is a decent little gun.

EDIT: here is an updated pic:

Is some sort of barrel shroud or hand guard on its way or is that it?

If I remember correctly the builder made it as a hunting pistol, and the weight had to be kept down to remain a legal hunting pistol according to the laws of the state he hives in. I would guess a handguard is not necessary as it adds too much weight and with the low rounds being shot when hunting the barrel wouldn't get hot enough to really matter.

I don't get it... Why not just buy a TC Encore?

I’d consider using it as a joke, or to prove that it could be done.

But only if all the parts were already laying around. No way I’d spend money to intentionally and specifically build that.

I am also in the group, although I don't know the creator personally.

While not my thing I don't believe it belongs in the Hall of shame either.

He had a need and did some nice work to create something that fit within those needs.

Why do any of us build our own instead of just buying a 6920?
Why own a SCAR when an AR does the job?
Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.

I also vote for it not being here. If he did 2 things he could probably sell them... machine a flat plug that installs with a spanner wrench instead of what looks like a common pipe he has in the back of the receiver and put a smooth carbon fiber handguard on it.

I agree with a plug for the receiver extension threads but I would leave the barrel bare and use the small hex barrel nut that Matrix uses on their rails.
