Thanks guys. Fingerprints were a nightmare, but other than that, no issues. Five years with nothing more than wiping it with a cloth and it never rusted like some said it would. I'm just not a shiny gun kind of guy so I had it, along with another G19.2 Cerakoted.

I had a local gunsmith cut/thread/pin & weld a Griffin Armament XM Linear Comp on a barrel for my XM177E2 project. This is what I got back...
They tack welded the LC to the grenade ring after tack welding the grenade ring to the barrel.
The gap looked suspicious, not to mention unsightly along with the tack welds.
It was too 'wrong' for me to live with and I was also informed that it may not be legit as it was. I decided I'd cut it and do the proper pin & weld myself. (I had them do it because they were already there...)
Here's what it looked like after I snapped the tack welds and pulled the linear comp off. As you can see, they just machined the barrel down to slip the LC over.
Here you can see the grenade ring with the remains of the tack welds. I have a new one coming from Griffin Armament.

Companies that do work like above should get a free mention. Company name, gunsmith's name, address and all.
That way everybody else can avoid them at all costs.
Not gonna lie, that's very true. At the time, it didn't seem worth it to save an inch or so in length.![]()
