Also for emergency extractions we found that your hand has more grip if it is tightly wrapped, versus the more open grip around the railed hand guards. So when the Huey couldn't land because of enemy fire we'd just place the rifle over the skid, grab the re-purposed carrying handle and the receiver extension and be extracted.

The only downside was I couldn't use my Beretta 93R to fire during the extraction.
Only a select few will get the references.

Those few are in for a treat

    Please keep doing this.

I ran across his original postings in a search a few days ago and it all came washing back.

    LOL classic.

Where's the shitty photoshopped proof of that skid extraction?
The simple fact of the matter is this, America has never not been great.

    Howdy,

Thank you titsonritz, you have given my life purpose. I'm going to my UNCL photo albums to see if I can find some photos of extractions.

I think I have a couple of me and Michael Echanis doing extractions in Nicaragua circa 1977, this was a year before he, General Ivan Alegrett, "Bobby" van Nguyen and Chuck Sanders died in the plane crash. I had loaned General Alegrett my 93R, at the request of General Somoza. The 93R had just been released and everyone who was anyone wanted trigger time on the 93R. Unfortunately, due to the tragedy, it was never returned. A quick call to Carlo Beretta resulted in them sending a courier with another 93R to meet me in Managua.

    Cheers,

Eurodriver has a 93R. I sold him one of mine. Now I only have three.
