My First Build. How'd I do?

All right, I've wanted to build an AR for a while now but never had the money. But between my Christmas bonus and holiday money I finally managed to slap this thing together.
I still need BUIS and am thinking about a Vortex PST 1-4 as my primary optic around tax time.

    Upper:
Anderson upper with dust cover and forward assist
    Radical Firearms BCG
Radical Firearms 16" 1:7 SS barrel with melonite finish midlength gas system
    YHM low profile gas block
MI gen2 T series rifle length quad rail
    Standard A2 birdcage flash hider

Don't know much about Radical and their barrels but it wasn't too expensive so I figured I'd give 'em a shot. I will say however, that their customer service is less than stellar.. and if I order any more radical parts, they will be from Primary Arms instead.

    Lower:
    Aero stripped lower
    CMMG LPK
Magpul CTR and DS Arms buffer assembly

Looks fine. Just needs sights and/or optics of some sort. Have you had a chance to fire it yet? I too have a build that I recently finished that has a Radical Firearms 16" Mid Length, 1:7 Twist, SOCOM Contour, and QPQ Melonite Barrel. It shoots pretty well considering how inexpensive it is.

Working on getting some BUIS now, just need to scrape together some more funds. I am considering a Vortex PST 1-4 and Larue or ADM mount around tax time. I havent had a chance to test fire it yet but I am going to try and get out to the range tomorrow. I'm glad to hear about the barrel though as I couldn't find much information on them and just decided to take a chance on it. Definitely want to upgrade to a high quality stainless barrel sometime but it's definitely out of my budget at the moment. Thanks for the feedback!

looks very nice! question: I'm starting in on my first as well and I'm still deciding on a rail. I was looking at those slip on MI rails last night, do they mount up solid? no wobble?

How much did you pay for the barrel and BCG if you don't mind?

Looks like a clean solid build!

On the above question about Midwest Industries rails.

I just installed the MI GEN2 SS Free Float hand guards on two of my rifles. They are Rock Solid! Fit and Finish is amazing. I installed them on a carbine gas and a mid-length. HUGE upgrade over the Magpul MOE hand guards. Taking them to the range to see how it goes. I used MI low profile gas blocks. Everything fit perfect!

    The build looks OK, although
    a) I've never heard of Radical Firearms. For me personally, bolts and barrels must be from manufacturers I trust.
    b) I know it's a personal thing, but blocky quad rails never have and never will appeal to me.
    c) I've never heard of this Anderson either. That doesn't mean they're bad, of course. Just sayin'.

With the prices of ARs these days, factory guns are looking more and more appealing.

The barrel was around $160 and the bcg was something like $80 or $90.

Also, the MI quad rail mounts up very solidly and feels very nice. No complaints here.
